Solar Celebrations

Summer Solstice at Stonehenge

Happy Summer Solstice! This is the longest day of the year. The height of yang for the year brings all things to their height of growth. This is a powerful time and a time to feel all the seeds you’ve planted in the many months prior now budding and beginning to fruit. This is a time to stand in and beneath all the incredible beauty and bounty of the Earth and endless Life that She has been stewarding this year. I am in total awe of my garden right now - of the poppies in full bloom, the roses wafting perfumes and the tomatoes just starting to set fruit.
My little Rosie is now already 7 months. She’s become a great source of love and joy for our whole family and just learned to crawl!

  • If you’re craving a summer session I have gone back to practicing 3 mornings a week: Tuesday-Thursday. Wednesdays I am in town at my friend and fellow acupuncturist’s office Julia Urcis who’s practice is called Feather and Bone. I am still doing remote Classical Chinese herbal sessions by phone and zoom and I will send you raw herbs that are as sustainable, local or organic as I can source.

  • I will be on vacation July 7th - July 21st but I am available for some herbal consultations during that time. I am just beginning to integrate my recent training in EMDR and Somatic Release work and am very excited to see how this will weave into my acupuncture and acupressure for a more deeply trauma-informed practice.

  • Myself and the wonderful Ana Jimenez of Amawa Academy, are offering a 6-part series of Traditional Womb Wisdom beginning June 29th with Biodanza. The series will feature monthly 3 hour class with traditional healers from a wide variety of traditions for womb-carriers and those who support womb health. We will study the Colombian art of ceremonial Chicha, Chinese diatetics for vitality and fertility, Ayruvedic post-partum care, and more. Please check out our eventbrite for more information and to sign up for this treasury trove of classes.

  • I will be offering food healing in the form of 2 new products - through Our Daily Bread. They are weaving together many incredible local collaborators in the holistic nutrition and regenerative and beyond organic farming movements and I’m honored to participate. I will be offering organic sauerkraut and organic, pasture-raised bone broth with bones and vegetables sourced from Nevada County farms.

Finally please follow @Zhenwustrology on instagram and enjoy this excerpt from the wonderful astrologer Scott Zook on the qi of the Summer Solstice:

"In the cosmology of the Tongshu, the Summer Solstice is one of the four annual pivots that signal a major transition in the immortal dialog between Yin and Yang. For the next two weeks, the grand crescendo of Yang Qi’s seasonal ascension to power will reverberate throughout the ecosystem as assertions swarm like locusts in flight.

Starting off as a mere glimmer in
#thedeadofWinter, Yang Qi now dominates the landscape, pushing everything into fruition. Having climbed to such great heights, the view from #thetopofthemountain is breathtaking! Don’t just be busy today. Leave plenty of room to be re-inspired! #Divinationpractice is highly recommended.

Within this period of Peak Yang, it is a vital Yin wisdom to recognize how we inherent our motives and that the achievements we reach are never ours alone. Fulfillment is a legacy of benefit that radiates
#backwardsandforwards in time. So wherever we are in this spectrum of action, the encouragement of this day is to find satisfaction with our contribution. Be prepared to relax and glide rather than push. Make it easy. #Makeitobvious! Sometimes our ascent to the summit is a #gloriousvictory. Other times, it is just another routine afternoon. Same Same!

When we’re content to let things roll forward rather than compulsively fight for what we want, it is easy to see that what comes into fulfillment was
#alwaysmeanttobe. An open heart lifts us off the ground and draws us forward. Our inspiration is strong and our actions timely. Don’t just do it for ourselves. Do it for the #collectivespirit we carry in our chest.”
